Ethiopia, China to share research experiences

Ethiopia and China have agreed to work on joint policy and research activities.
The Ethiopian Policy Study and Research Centre Director General, Abay Tsehaye, and a delegation of Chinese International Development Research Centre led by the Center’s Deputy Minister, Dr. Liu Shijin, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on September 17, 2015.
The Director General said the two centers have agreed to work together towards exchanging research and policy experiences in the area of urbanization, good governance and capacity building as well as manufacturing and agricultural modernization.
Abay said the MoU is a step forward to enable both countries to work jointly on different issues targeted at achieving economic growth.
Ethiopia is ready and eager to draw lessons from the Chinese research centre and the two centers will continue to strengthen their ties through time.
Dr. Shijin also said that the two centers have also reached agreement to further boost their ties in various areas.
He said his team has come to Ethiopia to see the ongoing activities of its Ethiopian counterpart and to share experiences.
The delegation is scheduled to visit different parts of the country to see developmental activities.
