Japan has pledged to provide 21.7 million US dollars for people affected by drought.
Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn held talks on the issue with Japanese, Italian and Chinese delegations at his office.
A pecial Advisor to the Prime Minister of Japan and Head of the delegation, Katsuyuki KAWAI, said his county will offer 21.7 million US dollars support. 
The advisor said Japan will increase its support to Ethiopia in the areas of power development, policy dialogue and industrial parks. 
Efforts will also be made to boost Japanese investors’ participations in Ethiopia’s investment opportunities and assisting the economy grow,  KAWAI added.
Prime Minister Hailemariam said the government would provide support for Japanese investors who are keen to invest in Ethiopia.
The premier added Ethiopia will do its best for the success of the Tokyo International Conference of African Development (TICAD) to be held in Kenya this year.
The premier also conferred with Italian Minister for Foreign Affairs, Paolo Gentiloni.
The two sides discussed the means to increase investment flow from Italy as well as to cooperate against migration and to address security issues in Somalia.
According to Gentiloni, Italian President Sergio Mattarella planned to visit Ethiopia soon.
The premier also held discussions with Jian Ming, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of China focusing on bilateral issues.
Ming said his country will continue supporting Ethiopia in human resource and infrastructure development, including construction of railway lines.
