State Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Taye Atseke-selassie conferred with Deputy Minister of Multilateral and Global Affairs of the Republic of Korea, Choi Jong-moon at his offices on August 17, 2016.
The discussions focused on ways of expanding cooperation in the fields of development, science and technology as well as advancing political consultation.
Ambassador Taye expressed that the two countries started historic relations in difficult times, one that remained strong till this time. The State Minister underscored that the relations between Ethiopia and the Republic of Korea would further be strengthened in various frontiers. He said the relationship between the two countries demonstrated real and meaningful cooperation in the area of collective peace and security among other sectors.
Deputy Minister of Multilateral and Global Affairs of the Republic of Korea, Choi Jong-moon on his part noted the two countries have had excellent bilateral ties and cooperation in a range of regional and global affairs, which among others include development cooperation, peace and security, and trade and investment sectors. “Ethiopia could further be an ideal investment destination for South Korean Investors,” he added.
The two sides agreed to work closely on the follow up of the 14 bilateral agreements signed during President Park’s recent visit to Ethiopia.
