The Army side Mekelakya and Ethio-Electric appear to be oblivious that the new season kicks-off after one month. Mekelakya has not yet appointed the replacement of former head coach Gebremedin Haile currently with Ethiopian national side while Electric FC’s camp is in complete silence following the disbandment of its Board of directors.
While most of the league clubs including the newly promoted four sides are busily participating by signing new players and kicking-off their pre season preparation, Mekelakya’s head coach position is officially vacant so far thus their pre-season surely to be seriously affected. Of course the team managed to renew the contract of many of the players and signed three new players.. On the other hand relegation survival experts Ethio-Electric are rumored to disband the former Board of directors led by the HR Executive Yohannes Legesse. Sources remarked the Power Utility is in the process of announcing the new Board. “The club manager’s fate is hanging by a string and with no one in a position to give direction to Head Coach Birahanu Bayu, Electric is sitting cross handed while others are busy for the coming new season.” An insider from the club stated.
