Ethiopia and Bahrain have agreed to initiate multifold partnerships, which among others include cooperation in trade and investment, education and tourism sector.

This was emphasized on September 19, 2016 during talks between Foreign Minister Dr. Tedros Adhanom and Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bahrein.

Recalling that his country will take the presidency of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) next year, Minister Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa made it clear that Bahrain is keen to forge stronger relations with Ethiopia and the African Union. nThe Minister also offered invitations to Dr. Tedros so that the latter would visit Bahrain any time soon.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Tedros Adhanom on his part noted the first Ethio-Bahrain Business Forum held in Addis Ababa over the year, and said, “Since then, the bilateral trade and investment has been on the rise.”

The Minister also stressed the need to sign key agreements, including an accord on avoidance of double taxation.
