Ethiopian Premier League

The new season of the Ethiopian Premier League will start next week Saturday, November 12 featuring 16 sides for the first time in recent history. The capital Addis Ababa brings the majority of participants fielding seven teams. The Southern Region which appears to have past its heyday of producing young talent, fields four teams. This includes the only regional side to win the title, Hawassa Town. Oromia and Amhara regions each have two sides while Dirwdawa Town represents the Eastern Region.
Saint George is still the favorite to win the title.  Dedebit FC, under former national coach Yohannes Sahle, Ethiopia Bunna and Adama Town are the serious title contenders.

Former EPL top scorer Nigerian Samuel Sannumi leads Ethiopia Bunna’s strike force.
The other strong side under head coach Ashenafi Bekele, Adama Town entertains Diredawa Town under newly appointed head coach Zelalem Shiferaw. With a number of new signees including Yared Zenabu, Diredawa encounters one of the league’s most consistent sides Adama Town. With their underrated coach, the Wolayta Dicha entertain visitors Mekelakya. New comer Fasil Town travels to Sidama Bunna while Jimma AbaBuna faces Ethio-Electric at home.
