Dedebit FC has sacked coach Yohannis Sahle after barely three games in charge of the Blues. Yohannis took over the helm at the Addis Ababa club in June following his stint with the Ethiopian National Team.
Sources close to Soccer Ethiopia revealed the Dedebit board was very unfazed with how the coach ran the club. While Yohannis was in charge, Dedebit played three league games winning one time. The Ethiopian born American coach started on a high note with a 3-0 hammering of Ethiopia Bunna. Nonetheless, Dedebit lost 2-0 to St. George in week 2 before settling to a barren draw against newly promoted side Woldia.
It was Yohannis’ second stint at Dedebit. He previously worked as a coach and technical director. Earlier today the team conducted their daily training under assistant coach Elias Ibrahim ahead of the Hawassa Ketema clash on Saturday. The club’s technical director Asrat Haile will be in charge of Dedebit.
The renowned Ethiopian coach Asrat was unemployed before assuming the technical director role at the one-time Premiere League champions. Asrat’s last role as a coach was at Ethiopia Medhin in 2013/14.
