Farm Service Centers

The US Agency for international Development (USAID) joined the Ethiopia Agricultural Transformation (ATA) agency and the Minister of Agricultural and Natural Resources to award a grant to 10 private entrepreneurs and 10 farmers’ cooperative unions to help them establish a farm service center. Each recipient received USD 50,000 to establish a center in Tigray, Oromia, Amahara and Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples’ Regions

“The farm service centers serve as a model for expanding farm supply and service networks in Ethiopia and other nations of Africa,’’ said Lesile Reed, USAID Mission Director.

Khalid Bomba the Chief Executive Office of ATA said the centers will increase farmer’s productivity by bringing equipment close to their farm.
