The Synthetic & Rayon Textiles Export Promotion Council (SRTEPC), as part of its Export Promotion Program for the year 2016-17, organized its exclusive exhibition of Indian man-made textile products, INTEXPO Ethiopia at the Sheraton Hotel on March 6 and 7. This event is being organized with the support of the Embassy of India and Government of India, as well as in collaboration with the local trade bodies and Ethiopian Government wings such as the Ethiopian Investment Commission, Ethiopian Textile Industry Development Institute Ethiopia, Chamber of Commerce & Sectorial Associations, Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce & Sectorial Associations, etc.
This Exhibition has been proposed to develop exports of MMF Textiles to Ethiopia, one of the biggest markets in East Africa under “Focus Africa/WANA Countries Scheme” of the Ministry of Commerce & Industry and Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. Exhibitor companies will display a wide range of man-made textile products including yarn, dress material fabric, suiting, shirting, made-ups and accessories. The event provides opportunity for importers, buyers and agents in Ethiopia to source their requirements in all product categories that represent the ‘Incredible Textiles of India’.
The event and the B2B meetings present a unique opportunity for building long term and mutually beneficial relationships between Indian exporters and Ethiopian importers/buyers of man-made textile products. The average share of these products from India is around 10%. There is a substantial scope to increase Indian exports to Ethiopia since the infrastructure and expertise for manufacturing man-made and blended textiles is presently not available in this country.
