Logistics expo coming in August

The first transport and logistics exhibition will take place this August at Millennium Hall. It is expected to demonstrate Ethiopia’s strength and room for growth in a sector considered to be in its infancy here.

Different studies indicate that logistics needs to improve for the country to continue developing. To improve this government has undertaken several studies and designed policies in addition to expanding the transport and logistics infrastructure like asphalt roads and railway lines.

In its annual report the World Bank expressed concern about the logistics sector and its effect on the economy. Logistics are more expensive in Ethiopia than other countries, according to studies.

The coming exhibition that will be held from August 18 to 20 is expected to hold symposiums on the sidelines to come up with ways to improve logistics.

Ethio Highland Marathon Event Organizer PLC, the company behind the event expects over 200 to attend.

Ministry of Transport, regional and city transport offices, public and logistics transport companies, port service providers, freight forwarders, packing service providers, truck and spare parts suppliers and agents, warehouse and management providers, oil companies, financial institutions, logistics and transport sector construction firms, are expected to participate. .

Ethio Highland expects the event to be a yearly affair.
