Ethiopian Airlines inaugurated its second cargo terminal on Thursday, June 29, 2017. Built on 150,000 square meters of land, the cargo terminal is constructed at a cost of USD 150 million. It has facilities including a Dry Cargo Terminal warehouse, perishable cargo terminal with cool chain storage and two floors of office space. Present at the inauguration was Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn and Ethiopian Group CEO Tewolde Gebremariam. The pair underlined the opportunity the new cargo will present in supporting the manufacturing sector through exports as well as presenting more opportunities for investors.
