Dedebit’s three former players off the hook

Ethiopian Football Federation disciplinary panel finally let off three former Dedebit FC players: Dawit Fekadu, Aklilu Walelegn and Samson Tilahun. In his second spell with Dedebit head Coach Negussie Desta is rumoured to be signing three West African players.
Blamed for Dedebit’s last season second round poor result and accused of badly influencing the team players five senior players were handed a three year suspension. While in his very first season with the team mid fielder Asrat Megersa and veteran national defender Aynalem Hailu’s suspension waived following their letter of appeal, the other three players: striker Dawit Fekadu, defenders Samson Tilahun and Aklilu Walelegn submitted their complaints to the federation. After months of hush-hush along the federation corridors the final verdict was passed on Tuesday setting the three players free of any contract obligations from Dedebit. Following the ruling Dedebit’s long standing striker Dawit Fekadu changed his mind about joining Diredawa in favor of Hawassa while defender Samson Tilahun is said to be in a discussion of a contract with Ethiopia Bunna. Aklilu Waleagn’s landing team is not yet official but rumours are that the defender is expected to sign either with Fasil or Ethiopia Bunna.
With many players leaving the club and the only new signee Fasika Asfaw, former champions Dedebit are said to be on the verge of completing a contract agreement with three foreign players. According to sources close to the club, Dedebit is determined to contend for the title and will have at least five foreign players, three of them from West Africa.
