Magnolia Hotel & Conference Centre which opened recently in Bole, announced they would soon add more rooms. They also play to open another Magnolia Hotel in the future.
Samson Nega and his father Nega Bonger, a well-known businessman who owns the Semen, Embilta, and Nega Bonger Hotels, and co-owns the Global Hotel, also owns the Magnolia Hotel.
“We are delighted to announce the opening of Magnolia in Addis Ababa. The new local brand hotel offers an innovative service concept and a modern design, we are confident this hotel will provide wonderful new lodging options to those visiting Ethiopia, and locals. We remain highly committed to providing modern and affordable accommodations and services that cater to our customers,” said Metin Can Akaltun, General Manager of the hotel.
The hotel which sits on 1,500 square meters has 86 bedrooms a health centre and a swimming pool. They have hired 120 people so far and will soon add another 40. The conference facilities have four meeting rooms and can accommodate up to 450 people. The parking lot can hold 100 cars. It has 86 bedrooms, and a fire-fighting system. The hotel’s restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and has a strong focus on local and continental cuisine.
Named after a flower species found worldwide, the hotel took seven years to complete. There were some delays caused by hard currency shortages. The Turkish manager who worked in over 12 countries in the hospitality industry told Capital they will treat customers uniquely.
“In many hotels the price of food is fixed and they won’t make something that is not on the menu but we will custom make dishes at an affordable price,” he said.
