Flute and piano on stage next week

A classical music concert is coming to you featuring Claudia Mauro on flute and Sebastiano Mesaglio on the piano at the Italian Cultural Institute on Tuesday, November 14, 2017.
Born in Udine, Italy in 1990, Sebastiano graduated in distinction from his hometown’s Conservatorium. He performed at the International Piano Academy “Meetings with the Master” in Imola with M ° Stefano Fiuzzi and he received the “Diploma Superiore d’Einsegnement” at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris with M ° Bruno Rigutto.
He is currently attending the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln with M ° Fabio Bidini. According to his biography, since when he was very young he was a prize winner in National and International Competitions. Recently he was one of the 3 finalists at the NYCA 2017 Worldwide Debut Audition in New York.
In 2016 he was awarded the First Prize at the International Piano Competition “City of Albenga” and at the National Piano Competition “Giulio Rospigliosi” in Lamporecchio.
He was awarded the Absolute First Prize at the National Piano Competition “JS Bach” in Sestri Levante, 2004, 2005 and 2010 and the First Prize at the National Piano Competition “Città di Riccione”, 2011 edition. He was a Third Prize winner at the “Premio Pianistico Gioiella Giannoni” (2011) in Piombino.
Recently he performed as a soloist at Merkin Hall, New York with NYCA Symphony Orchestra conducted by Eduard Zilberkant.
As a chamber musician he is now taking part in the project SUONO ITALIANO – FRIULI IN MUSICA promoted by Fondazione FRIULI and CIDIM. He performed in many events and festivals in Italy (to name a few: Palazzo Doria-Tursi in Genova for the Friends of Paganini, Altolivenza Festival, concert hall at Palazzo Chigi-Saracini in Siena, S. Carlo Auditorium in Albenga, Echos – Crossfire echoes, Chamber Fest Durres, Monferrato Classic Festival, Villa Music), Germany, Slovenia, Albania and recently in the USA.
His education was mostly thanks to M ° Giorgio Lovato, whom Sebastiano studied with since he was very young.
He attended the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena, the “Sommerakademie” at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, the “Academie Internationale des Nuits Pianistiques” in Aix-en-Provence and the Aurora Chamber Music Festival & Masterclasses in Trollhattan-Vanersborg, taking masterclasses with such as Lilya Zilberstein, Fabio Bidini, Bruno Canino, Daniel Rivera, Peter Lang, Piero Rattalino, Stefano Fiuzzi, Massimo Gon, Marian Mika, Aleksandar Serdar and Siavush Gadjiev.
Well acclaimed Claudia Mauro, born in 1993, began studying the flute at the age of seven. Joined the Conservatory of Udine at the flute school of prof. Giorgio Marcossi, graduates with the highest marks and then the second level academic degree with a score of 110/110.
She attended the master’s degree program with Maestro Nicola Mazzanti (Ottavino del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino) and the two-year flute masterpiece at the Fiesole Music School with Master Andrea Oliva (first flute of the National Academy of Santa Cecilia). She graduated in several stages and master classes with internationally renowned Masters. She is part of the ANBIMA FVG orchestra and has enjoyed professional experiences in prestigious orchestras such as UK Symphony, the Leonore Orchestra of Pistoia and the Orchestre Busoni of Trieste, with whom she recorded for the album “Amadeus” and for the recording company “Concerto Classics “in Milan.
She won the 1st prize at the “X National Competition of the City of Barletta” in the solo category, and the first ever prize, at the same competition, with the formation of a quintet of winds.
