A master strike Ashenafi signs Degu, Alazar

Burdened with the heavy task of helping Wolayta Dicha stay on top, newly appointed Coach Ashenafi Bekele signed veterans Degu Debebe and Alazar Fasika ahead of the second round kick-off. It is considered a double master stroke by former national team Coach Ashenafi signing the best war horses on the market.
Skipping the Walyas to the historic 2015 African Nations Cup final in South Africa, fourteen years and five championship titles and plenty of international matches under his belt, there appears no other person better than Degu to Captain Dicha i to safe harbor. “Ashenafi knows what it takes to build a squad capable of battling for purpose and don’t forget he was the one that brought Adama back to the Premier League,” Andnet Assefa suggested.

“Well he has a bad reputation as a national team coach but both his club records and roaming around teams is no different than any others” he added.
Being a war horse for nearly 15 years, the central defender Degu has seen everything so he can command the defense, organize the mid field and be a voice in the changing room. Intelligent, humble, good at reading games and leading by example, Degu is sure to help Dicha travel further up the ladder.
Alazar was instrumental in helping Wolayta Dicha promote to the Premier League seven years ago as a skipper and striker. Though he returned home after a disappointing 18 months with three sides, Adama, Hawassa and Super League side Sodo, Alazar’s experience both at the upper tier and Super League is a big plus to Ashenafi’s revitalized Wolayta Dicha.
