British Ambassador to Ethiopia, Susanna Moorehead, said her country is ready to assist Ethiopia with investigations related to a grenade attack at a rally held last Saturday.
Two people were killed and over 150 others injured in the attack at the rally staged in the capital Addis Ababa to show support for the reform agenda of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD).
At a discussion held with Ethiopia’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs Prof AfeworkKassu, the ambassador expressed Britain’s readiness to assist Ethiopia with investigations related to the attack.
She also conveyed her message of condolences to the victims, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Moorehead further commended Ethiopia’s role in brokering peace between the warring parties in neighboring South Sudan.
During their meeting, the two sides discussed on ways to further strengthening cooperation between Ethiopia and Britain in the areas of development, trade, investment, peace and security, among others.
