Dicha’s Mesay Teferi and Arbaminch’s Tsegaye K/Mariam sacked

Long serving head coach Mesay Teferi, was fired from Wolayta Dicha
after a humiliating away defeat to regional rival Sidama Bunna. Arbaminch also booted out Tsegaye Kidanemariam just two months into his new, two year contract.

The hero turned villain Mesay not only steered the side to promotion, last year the team earned their first major trophy in the Ethiopian knock-out championship.
The team had many talented local players move to big name clubs to earn millions. The team spent a lot of money to transfer foreign players but it didn’t work as the team faltered over its last eight games.
Despite a historic place in the African Confederation Cup, Dicha is currently bottom of the table with five points from one win, two draws and five defeats; including two at home against Adama and Mekele. “I am grateful to the club that gave me such happiness and wish the best for the future,” Mesay stated.
In the meantime the coach strongly blamed for Ethiopia Neged Bank’s disbandment Tsegaye K/Mariam once again got the boot from aback following a 3-1 home defeat to newly promoted Jimma Aba Jifar. Tsegaye who had been sacked in mid-season last year from NegedBank, joined Arbaminch at the start of the season promising to help the side back to the old glory days. Despite signing a number of new players including four foreigners, the former Trans, Harar Birra, Ethiopia Bunna and NegedBank failed to deliver as the team sits 14th with six points from eight matches. “It is hard to coach a team that has huge burdens. I may take some rest or be back with a team in two weeks confident Tsegaye who is already rumored to take over at Diredawa remarked.
