Veteran Mulualem Regassa is likely to pop again at EPL

At 34 former Ethiopian national team skipper Mulualem Regassa is considered an old hand long to hang his boot. More than two decades at Premier League football, the mid fielder considered one of the best play makers of his generation just left relegation threatened Debub Police in mid season. But many football fans that claim to closely know him are highly predicting that he will resurface soon.
It has been three years since he left Saint George where he came up through the ranks to claim the Captain’s arm band. Thirteen years and five championship titles under his belt with Saint Gegorg and ten years with the Ethiopian national team, Mulualem turned out the most sought out mid field orchestrator thus in no time joined Super League side Sebeta a. Helping Sebeta to promotion he joined his former mentor Coach Asrat Haile at Ethiopia Insurance and together steered the team back to the upper tier.
Being in a shadow for two seasons, the misery play maker reappeared to the Premier League with Hawassa at the time in danger of relegation. According to Coach Wubetu Abate, Mulualem who scored two goals to win six points for his side played a significant role both in field and outfields. Mulualem left Hawassa to sign for new comers Debub Police at the start of the current season only to serve six months before he parted ways last Monday in mutual agreement with the club.
Named Best Player of the Year once and having the national team arm band a number of times Mulualem’s experience in being exemplary for upcoming players and amazing quality in distributing balls is what makes him special compared with currently active players. Age may be only about numbers therefore thanks to the ever declining Ethiopian Football, Mulualem is sure to pull a surprise come back soon.
