The highly anticipated New Year’s Expo, known as the CBE Birr Plus Expo, is set to open on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at the Addis Ababa Exhibition Center. Organized by Tamesol Communications in collaboration with Ascentic Solution and Lian Company, the event is expected to draw over 500,000 visitors from across the country and beyond.

Under the theme “Something New in the New Year,” the Expo will feature participation from more than 400 domestic and international organizations. These exhibitors will showcase a wide range of products and services, offering attendees a unique opportunity to explore the latest innovations and trends in various industries.

The Expo is designed to cater to a diverse audience, with the venue divided into ten distinct villages. This layout ensures that visitors can easily navigate the event and find products and services that meet their needs. In addition to the business and trade opportunities, the Expo promises vibrant entertainment, with daily concerts featuring performances by both emerging and established artists.

Solomon Kebere, General Manager at Tamesol Communications, highlighted the significance of the event for both participants and visitors. “The New Year’s Expo is a one-of-a-kind event that not only brings together businesses from various sectors but also provides a platform for them to showcase their strengths and stand out from the competition,” he said.

One of the event’s major attractions is the chance to win a brand-new BYD car worth 2.3 million Birr. Sponsored by the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia, this exciting giveaway adds an extra layer of excitement to the Expo, with one lucky attendee set to drive away with the grand prize.

“The CBE Birr Plus 2017 Expo is more than just a trade show,” Solomon noted. “It’s an opportunity for institutions within the same sector to challenge themselves and outperform their competitors. This year, we aim to foster a spirit of innovation and excellence among all participants.”

As New Year’s Eve approaches, the CBE Birr Plus Expo is poised to be a major highlight, offering a blend of business, entertainment, and community engagement. With more than half a million visitors expected, the event is set to create lasting memories and mark the start of the new year with a celebration of progress and innovation.
