Ethiopia to host 2027 FIATA World Congress

Being chosen to host the major international logistics event is a significant accomplishment, according to the Ethiopian Freight Forwarders and Shipping Agents Association (EFFSAA), a lobby organization in the logistics industry.

The association was chosen to host the 2027 FIATA World Congress during the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA) World Congress, which took place in Panama City in late September.

The EFFSAA board of directors stated during the press conference on Thursday, October 10, that the opportunity offers several benefits for Ethiopia’s logistics industry. Since leading industry players will have the chance to explore Ethiopia’s potential and infrastructure, there is a chance to raise Ethiopia’s standing in logistics.

They declared, “We will gain expertise, collaboration in the logistics industry, and capacity building for local professionals.”

It is also a great chance to showcase the nation’s tourist industry, according to the association’s statement.

They valued the government’s contribution in providing them with the chance to organize such a significant logistical event.

“We anticipate additional government assistance to ensure a successful hosting of the event,” they stated.

After three years, Ethiopia will host the 64th global annual event, which is anticipated to draw up to 2,000 logisticians for networking besides the annual meeting. The yearly event will take place in Vietnam in 2025 and in Italy in 2026.
