Coca-Cola celebrates flagship Sprite Ballers Tournament Championship finals

The Sprite Ballers National Basketball Tournament, held in partnership between Coca-Cola and the Ethiopian Basketball Federation has concluded successfully. Teams from 11 regions and regional city administrations across the country have been participating in the nearly week-long finals tournament. The tournament aims to produce future men and women professional basketball players for the country.
During Thursday’s final matches, the tournament brought together the Tigray and Gambella regional state teams in the Boys’ Finals. In a very competitive match up, Tigray came out victorious against a strong Gambella team playing with determination and high team spirit. In the Girls’ Finals between the Southern Nations, Nationalities, & People’s regional state and Oromia regional state, Oromia easily won the challenge to take home the trophy.
Addis Ababa took third place in both boys’ and girls’ competitions defeating Harrari and Amhara respectively.
“The competitive spirit that the participating boys and girls demonstrated throughout the tournament is admirable. Watching these kids play in their green and white uniforms makes us so joyful. Being able to support basketball and football give us such pride, as we aim to help make an impact in youth sports. I would like to reaffirm that we will continue our support to these and other sport initiatives throughout Ethiopia,” states Tigist Getu, Coca-Cola Ethiopia and Horn Brand Manager.
