Thrashing Ethio-Electric to a humiliating score line, Ethiopian Women League defending champion Dedebit widens the gap on the top of the table. Mekelakya defeated Sidama to claim second a point above former champions Ethiopia NegedBank.
Back from international hat trick over Libya, leading top scorer Losa Aberra once again made a hat trick in the Women’s League second round opening match on Tuesday. Rehima Zergaw and Betelhem Seman added the remaining two to trash bottom of the table Ethio-Electric to 5-0 defeat. Dedebit leads the league with twenty four points.
Medina Awol twice on target, Mekelakya defeated visitors Sidama Bunna to 3-2 score line thus taking the second spot with twenty points. Lucy head coach Selam Zeray’s side Kidus Giorgis managed a goal less away draw with strong side Gedeo-Dilla thus stayed in relegation zone with nine points from ten matches. Sara Nebsso hit the brace for the home side while Kifia Abdulrahman and Betelehem Seman level the score line to Kidus Giorgis. The Hawassa versus visitors Diredawa ended in a one-up draw therefore the home side stayed sixth with ten points while Diredawa sitting seventh in goal differences.
