EPL second round opening weekend fiesta; Fasil Vs Sidama; Baherdar Vs St George

The 2019 Ethiopian Premier League season’s second round kicks-off today with six of the eight fixtures taking place out of the capital Addis Ababa. Fourth in the table Fasil is at home versus runner up Sidama Bunna and Saint George against home side Baherdar are the weekend’s biggest matches.
The Northern derby brings league leaders Mekele against bottom of the table Dedebit FC. With the home side Dedebit boasting a new coach and not less than ten new players including four foreigners, it is much expected to be a drama packed showdown. Five points clear at the top and nine points far from serious title contender Saint George, the title appears to be up to Mekele to throw away.
The season’s surprise package Sidama Bunna visits strong side Fasil at Fasiledes Stadium. A single defeat so far in the season, the visitors are said to be on a mission, thus Fasil faces a strong adversary in quest of a dream title.
Saint George is coming to Baherdar to avenge the season’s opening defeat in Addis Ababa. First season in the top flight Baherdar defeated Saint George 1-0 in Addis Ababa to stir strong opposition from supporters. It is time for revenge but Baherdar backed by a strong home supporter is sure to get ready for the face off.
Ashenafi Bekele’s revitalized Wolayta Dicha entertains relegation threatened Sehul Shere that brandish a new boss Samson Ayele that go along with eight new signees. Defending champions and 9th in the table Jimma AbaJifar hosts 6th in the table strong side Adama that brought strong mid field battler Biruk Kalbore.
Signing two veteran mid fielders Menyahel Teshome and Elias Mamo under pressure Diredawa hosts under new coach and the house not yet in order Ethiopia Bunna. Hosts Diredawa stands 12th in the table with Ethiopia Bunna comes 8th. Home side and 11th in the table Mekelakya entertains relegation zone Debub Police.
