Great Ethiopian Run launches registration for 2021 international 10k run

At a launch event staged at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Addis Ababa, Great Ethiopian Run race organisers announced plans for the start of registration for the 2021 Total Energies Great Ethiopian Run International 10km which will take place on Sunday 14th November 2021. Race registration opens on Monday 19th July 2021 and can be completed online via a bot with payment through Amole payment services.
Simultaneously with the opening of registration, the race organisers have launched a campaign to encourage more residents of Addis Ababa to cover 3km per day walking to their home or place of work. This fitness campaign is being supported by the Ministry of Transport whose Minister Dagmawit Moges attended the launch event and is actively taking part in the campaign.
The 2021 race message which is being presented by UNICEF is “Stop defecating in the open, Do it in toilets!”
UNICEF is advocating for safe, affordable and sustainable water and for appropriate hygiene and sanitation for children and their families in both urban and rural parts of Ethiopia.
The race boasts an impressive list of sponsors which include Ethiopian Airlines, Sofi Malt, Tourism Ethiopia, Indomie, SAS pharmaceuticals, Hyatt Regency and Arki Water besides the title sponsor of Total Ethiopia.
The registration fee for this year’s race has been set at 590 birr including VAT.
