Super League 4th edition kicks-off over the weekend

The 2021 Ethiopian Super League brings group “A” promotion favorites Ethio-Electric to a head on clash on season opening fixtures over the weekend while group “C” heavy weight Ethiopia Medin entertains Wolayta Sodo.
Under the obligation of steering back the team to the top tier, seasoned Super League Coach Kifle Boltena kicks off the season facing an unexpected adversary in the form of Ethiopia NegedBank under Degarege Yigzaw.
A twice premier league former champion Electric is the hot favorite for they started the preseason much earlier than NegedBank that lately joined the league after five years absence. Hosana Abiyu-Ersamo stadium is the venue to group “A”
Group “B” where no one side comes up as serious promotion contender, humble side Legetafo-Legedadi entertains Kenbata-Shinshicho, Selete-Werabe versus Kolfe-Keranyo and Butagera facing Sendafa. Sebeta Stadium is the venue for the ten-side’s two round fixtures.
Group “C” is the one dubbed The Death Group for it brings together four former premier league sides: Federal Police, Ethiopia Medin, Jimma AbaBuna and Debub Police. Although the better organized and financially strong Medin is the hot favorite to top the group, the journey is by no means an easy ride.
In the groups season opening fixture promotion favorite Medin takes on Wolayta Sodo, Debub Police against Nekemet, Akaki Kality versus Durame and Federal Police to a big clash against Jimma AbaBuna. Jimma Stadium is the venue for group “C” fixtures.
