Sidama fans are calling for Gebremedin’s head

Sidama Bunna’s dismal season continues with a resounding four-nil defeat against league leaders Fasil Ketema followed by unconvincing goalless draw with Mekelakeya on Wednesday. Fans are exerting pressure against club officials calling for the sacking of Coach Gebremedin Haile.
“I am not worried about losing my job. But it is almost impossible to work under such circumstances,” Gebremedin remarked to reporters in sheer frustration.
A single win, five draws and two defeats in the past six consecutive matches Sidama Bunna is just two points behind relegation zone with eight points from eight matches.
A season opening goalless draw with Ethiopia Bunna followed by a 3-0 victory over Diredawa, many considered the Coach who helped the side survive at the top tier last season was sure to lead the way into glory. But since then things turned into a downward slide with four draw and two defeats. Sidama is 13th in the table with eight points thus fans stood against their former hero calling for his resignation.
Despite the pressure from fans, the club leaders took the wiser decision of sticking to Gebremedin in fear of breaching his two years expensive contract. Rather they gave their full backing to the coach and promised to further strengthen the team in the coming transfer window.
