Safaricom Ethiopia aids victims of devastating landslide in Gofa Zone

In a gesture of support and compassion, Safaricom Ethiopia has donated 240 quintals of wheat worth 2 million birr to the Gofa Zonal Administration in Sawla town. The donation comes in the wake of a tragic landslide that struck the Kench Shacha Gozedi Kebele of Gofa Zone in the Southern Ethiopia Region.

The landslide, which occurred earlier this month, claimed numerous lives and left many families displaced and in dire need of humanitarian aid. In response to the crisis, Safaricom Ethiopia, the country’s leading telecommunications company, stepped up to provide much-needed assistance to the affected community.

“We are deeply saddened by the devastating loss of life and the immense suffering caused by this tragic landslide,” said Sisay Zerihun, Safaricom Ethiopia’s Acting Chief of External Affairs. “As a responsible corporate citizen, we feel compelled to extend our condolences and show our solidarity with the people of Gofa Zone during this difficult time.”
