5th Pak Africa Trade Conference to Boost Bilateral Trade

A trade delegation from Pakistan is preparing to participate in the “5th Pak Africa Trade Development Conference and Made in Pakistan Exhibition,” to be held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from October 16–18, 2025. The conference aims to strengthen the trade and economic relationship between Pakistan and Africa. The event, organized by the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) with the support of the Ministry of Commerce and the Government of Pakistan, will showcase Pakistani products in Africa and work to boost the volume of bilateral trade.TDAP’s spokesperson stated that the conference will play a significant role in promoting trade with African countries, particularly in East Africa. The event is the fifth in a series of similar conferences that began in 2017. The first four events were held in South Africa, Egypt, Nigeria, and Kenya, and the upcoming conference will be held in Ethiopia. It is expected to further strengthen trade relations.Pakistan’s government has a “Look Africa” policy, and the event aligns with this policy by encouraging business-to-business and government-to-government meetings to facilitate trade cooperation. The conference will also host a “Made in Pakistan” exhibition to showcase Pakistani products. The spokesperson emphasized that the trade volume between Pakistan and Africa has reached approximately $1.6 billion, and the government aims to increase this to $5 billion in the coming years.The event will also include a detailed seminar on market potential in the African region to guide Pakistani businesses and exporters. Pakistani exhibitors from various sectors, including textiles, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, surgical instruments, and sports goods, will participate in the exhibition.The spokesperson further noted that the previous four conferences successfully created new trade opportunities and strengthened relations with African countries, attracting attention from both the business community and government officials. The “Made in Pakistan” exhibition will feature over 100 Pakistani companies, and more than 55 companies are participating for the first time. The TDAP is working to provide comprehensive support to Pakistani businesses to ensure their success in the African market.
