Buenos Aires coffee fair to bring together 100 exhibitors and 1,500 baristas

The 13th edition of Exigí Buen Café, Argentina’s largest coffee fair, will take place on Sept. 13 and 14 at La Rural in Buenos Aires, bringing together 100 exhibitors from four continents and an estimated 30,000 visitors.

The two-day event will cover 5,000 square metres and feature tastings, competitions, coffee-themed art and 20 free public workshops. Participants will learn about home brewing and methods including V60, Chemex and AeroPress, as well as the fundamentals of coffee tasting.

The fair will also host Argentina’s national Barista, Brewers and Latte Art competitions, judged by an international panel. Visitors will be able to sample single-origin coffees and meet 40 producers from Latin America and Africa, including Brazil, Colombia, Ethiopia, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Venezuela.

A 300-seat auditorium will host discussions on coffee trends, sustainability and health research. The programme will also include coffee and Argentine wine pairings led by sommeliers and baristas.

“Each edition offers a snapshot of the state of the art of coffee in Argentina,” said Sabrina Cuculiansky, founder and chief executive of Exigí Buen Café.

The fair will run from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Pabellón Ocre, La Rural, Buenos Aires. Ticket prices start at ARS 18,000.
