Life for Relief launches drive to sponsor Gaza orphans

Life for Relief and Development has launched a global campaign to find sponsors for an estimated 60,000 children in Gaza who have lost one or both parents during the war.

The initiative will provide food, health care, education, clothing and psychosocial support to orphaned children living amid displacement, damaged infrastructure and severe shortages of basic services.

The campaign comes as UNICEF estimates that more than 58,000 children in Gaza have lost one or both parents, while over one million require protection and mental-health or psychosocial support.

Life for Relief and Development said it has already sponsored more than 4,000 orphaned children in Gaza but that thousands remain without regular support. The organisation’s orphan-sponsorship programme, operating for more than 30 years, also provides school supplies, medical assistance and holiday support to vulnerable children and foster families in 22 countries.

The organisation urged individuals and communities worldwide to sponsor children and raise awareness of their needs.
