Dashen Bank donates 5 Million birr for internally displaced people

Dashen Bank S.C. has donated Birr 5 Million for internally displaced people from various parts of the country in a ceremony held on October 2, 2018 at the Headquarters of the National Disaster Risk Management Commission (NDRMC).
During the occasion, President of Dashen Bank, Asfaw Alemu, said that Dashen Bank as part and parcel of the community it operates in feel the pain and suffering of those challenged by natural and man-made disasters. The President stressed the unwavering commitment of the Bank to support endeavors of the government and other stakeholders to address disasters and improve the well-being of the society on a sustainable basis.
The President recalled that Dashen Bank made Birr 4.1 million donation last year for Emboch eradication effort, Muday Charity Association, Ethiopian Cancer Association, and the Children’s Heart Fund of Ethiopia.
Damene Darota, Deputy Commissioner of NDRMC, appreciated the benevolent act of Dashen Bank and expressed his hope that other institutions would follow suit to assist the needy. The Deputy Commissioner further called upon citizens and private businesses to stand by the government’s side to overcome socio-economic challenges of the society with own resource and play their due role to build the country’s resilience in the face of adversities.
