INVITATION TO OPEN TENDER
The Organization for Welfare and Development in Action (OWDA) was established in 1999 as a non-profit organization dedicated to addressing the humanitarian and development needs of vulnerable communities in Ethiopia mainly in Somali region. OWDA primarily serves vulnerable pastoralist and agro-pastoralist populations who are affected by drought, conflict, and displacement. The organization operates across various sectors, including water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), health and nutrition, education and protection, and livelihood and food security and other cross cutting areas, providing both humanitarian services and long-term development works in collaboration with communities, government, local and international partners.
OWDA has partnered with WFP Ethiopia Country Office to implement a Drought Anticipatory Action Plan (AAP) aimed at protecting vulnerable populations and communities from the impacts and risks associated with drought. The primary objective of this AAP is to implement anticipatory actions during the critical window between receiving a drought forecast alert and the actual occurrence of the event. This proactive approach is designed to prevent or mitigate the anticipated impacts of drought and to stabilize or contain worsening conditions.
- OWDA is planning to make rehabilitation Warder and Geladi borehole using submersible water pumps and Supply and installation of Solar Pannels in Bokh borehole.
- OWDA is planning to support drought impacted pastoralists households in doollo zone of ESRS to get fodder for their core breading animals to reduce the risks of livestock mortalities and currently looking for competent suppliers to supply (and deliver) 13,044 quintals of wheat bran to three districts with in 12 Kebeles
Interested contractors qualified and legally registered in Ethiopia for wheat bran, rehabilitate Warder and Geladi borehole using submersible water pumps and Supply and installation of Solar Pannels in Bokh borehole, meet their tax obligations may obtain, the complete set of tendering documents at the following OWDA Office during office hours.

The tendering is from 27th October – 11th November 2024. The deadline for picking the tender documents is November 11th, 4:30 PM and submission of tender is November 12th 2024 @10:00AM.
Bids shall be opened at the OWDA Jigjiga office on November 12th 2024@3:30 PM in the presence of tenders who may wish to attend.
The Organization for Welfare and Development in Action reserves the right to reject the whole or part of any or all Tender.
NB: Both the receiving and the submission of bid document will be at Jigjiga office.
