Invitation for Expression of Interest

DESCRIPTION: Provision of Pest Control and Fumigation Services
CLOSING DATE FOR SUBMISSION OF EOIs: 20 May 2025, 12:00 hrs.

The United Nations World Food Programme in Ethiopia (WFP Ethiopia) invites qualified and licensed service providers for the Provision of Pest Control and Fumigation Services in WFP warehouses (including WFP Cooperative Partners’ warehouses) across all regions in Ethiopia.

A. Provision of Pest Control and Fumigation Services

  1. Objective
    This invitation for expression of interest aims to identify qualified and licensed companies to provide pest control services to support WFP Ethiopia operations.
    Shortlisted companies will be invited to participate in a bidding process to provide the above-mentioned services. Based on the results of a competitive bidding process, WFP may conclude a contract with one or more company(ies) for the provision of the named services.
  2. Summary of Required Services
    The Pest Control services will consist of Fumigation, Spraying /Insect Control for disinfestation purposes in empty warehouses, Rodent Control & Termite Control for the preservation of humanitarian commodities -including both raw and processed food items and the storage facilities.
  3. Process
    WFP Ethiopia seeks to shortlist companies/organizations with demonstrable technical and financial capabilities, who will be invited to participate in bidding process.
    After the deadline, WFP will evaluate all submitted EOIs, and participants will be notified of the outcome by email.

B. Submission of EOI
All documents should be presented in English and presented in an orderly manner as per the guidelines below.

  1. Required Documents
    The expression of interest must include each of the following documentation:
    o Company’s confirmation in writing of their interest to join WFP database or shortlist of companies for the requested services,
    o Brief Company profile including contact details, (e-mail address is mandatory, website, address/ physical location, telephone, fax numbers, max. of 5 pages);
    o Copies of the registration documents (VAT & Taxpayers Registration Certificate, Renewed Trade Registration, and Renewed Business License)
    o Renewed Competency Certificate from Ministry Agriculture/ Bureau of Agriculture.
    o Recommendation letters from three credible clients,
    o Independently audited financial report (audit reports) covering the last two (2) financial years.
    Failure to provide the required documentation will result in the company’s exclusion from further consideration.
  2. Closing date of submission and Contact Details
    The EOI and any supplementary documentation must be submitted in a sealed envelope and deposited at the Registry of WFP Ethiopia in Addis Ababa using the address below no later than 20 May 2025, 12:00 hrs.
  • The cover of the envelope should contain the following information – EOI reference number (EOI-ETCO-LOG-2025-05), the date of submission, and name of the company.
  • All EOIs should be duly signed and stamped.

  1. Further Information
    This EOI does not entail any commitment on the part of WFP, either financial or otherwise. WFP reserves the right to change or cancel the requirements at any time during the EOI. WFP also reserves the right to disregard companies from further consideration if the company is not deemed to conform to the above conditions.
