Unlocking digital finance inclusion

UN Capital Development Fund (UNCDF), in partnership with the European Union and the Organization of Africa, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS) launch Ethiopia’s Digital Financial Services Working Group as part of activities under the new joint initiative in digital finance.
Launched on Tuesday May 10, 2022 at Inter luxury hotel with the presence of different stakeholders the main objective of the working group is said to create a framework for dialogue and exchange between the various stakeholders in the sector to promote and remove barriers to digital financial inclusion.
The working group is referred to as a common platform that seeks to unite and create collaboration among industry players in the digital financial service
The project will work with the sector to link digital financial services to the development of digital economy and ensure marginalized population like women, youth and rural people are included.
Similarly, from May 16 to 20, 2022 government representatives from Ethiopia and Malawi joined the UNCDF for knowledge and learning visit to two countries to learn and study best practices on how to best build inclusive digital economies, and the policy and regulatory environment required to advance this digital transformation.
