Brotherly ties

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed received President of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta and his delegation on March 1, 2019. President Kenyatta is in Ethiopia on an official state visit with a delegation of businesses and investors to explore investment opportunities.
Prime Minister Abiy together with President Uhuru attended the Kenya-Ethiopia High Level Trade and Investment Forum at Skylight Hotel. In his opening remarks Prime Minister Abiy highlighted the opening up of the country and the economic reforms underway as a catalyst for strengthening Ethio-Kenya trade relations.
Following attendance at the High Level Trade and Investment Forum, Prime Minister Abiy and President Uhuru visited the Hawassa Industry Park where 22 manufacturers in textile and apparel are currently operating employing 25,000 employees. General features of Ethiopia’s industrial parks include sector specialization, export orientation, vertical integration, sustainability and skills development.
