TATTOO photo exhibition

A tattoo exhibition was held in Addis Ababa a week ago at Maksuh Art Gallery. The exhibition presents pictures of tattooed people taken by Anteneh Tadele.
The photos which were pictured in Gojam, Tigray, Wollo, Afar, Gedio and Gonder features young girls and old ladies who have a tattoo in their face.
During the opening ceremony Anteneh said “when I travel to different places I see a lot of tattoos with different style and I wanted to know their history and to show it to the people and Ethiopian tattoos have different meanings, from beauty to believing tattoos are very important for health.’’
Ireland Ambassador to Ethiopia Sonja Hyland said the works of Anteneh should be appreciated to promote culture and tradition.
