Pasta Festa to bring Italian food and culture to Addis

Addis Ababa will host Pasta Festa 2026 on Saturday, November 7, bringing Italian cuisine, live entertainment and family activities to the Addis Ababa Exhibition Center.

The one-day festival, scheduled to run from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., will feature pasta and pizza from participating Italian restaurants, alongside desserts, speciality ingredients and activities for children, according to an event announcement.

Organisers say the festival aims to bring together residents, families, food enthusiasts and members of the international community, using food as a platform for cultural exchange and social interaction.

The programme will showcase a variety of pasta dishes and flavours, while vendors will offer cheeses and speciality ingredients for visitors interested in preparing Italian dishes at home. Ice cream, cotton candy and other sweet treats will also be available.

Beyond its culinary offerings, Pasta Festa will feature live music and DJ sets throughout the day.

A dedicated children’s area is planned, with bouncy castles, trampolines, water slides, an inflatable pool, a toy train and face painting among the advertised attractions.

Organisers describe the festival as a celebration of the cultural connection between Italy and Ethiopia, with an emphasis on bringing people together through food, hospitality and shared experiences.

The Addis Ababa Exhibition Center will provide space for the food stalls, entertainment and family activities. Organisers say parking will be available and security arrangements are being put in place for visitors.
